Many orchestras and professional military ensembles try to do projects where they can reach new and young audiences. Bjørn Sagstad believes it is important for professional ensembles to reach children and has therefore conducted and developed several exciting concepts especially for families and children. Some projects involve actors, singers and children.
Peter and the Wolf
The orchestra is “going to the movies” and are playing Prokofjev`s lovely music to the Academy Award W inner for best animated short film 2008 by Breakthrough Film and Storm Studio. This state-of-the-art digital technology is creating a magical world in which little boys can find the strength and courage to overcome their fears.
Prokofiev`s Lieutnant Kije (possible together with Peter and the Wolf). Another great work by Prokofiev easily adapted to fit in with the Peter and the Wolf concept.
Astrid Lindgren
Music, stories, song and play from Lindgrens famous Swedish world!
This is a project in cooperation between orchestras and possible local music schools and talented youngsters: soloist, choir and possible dance and acting.
Can be done as a concert or a performance/show.
Torbjørn Egner
Egners traditional music in a contemporary setting.
This project also includes stories, plays, song and dance.
The project gives life to the great world of Egners famous universe that
thousands of children are brought up in.
